“Move On” Promo of The Vampire Diaries of Season 6!

What do you do when tragedy strikes and you lose your closest friends? What do you do when you can’t seek refuge in your childhood home due to a “humans only” barrier that surrounds your town? According to Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), you suck it up and “move on,” but it’s easier said than done. And according to the new Vampire Diaries Season 6 preview trailer, each of character is handling his/her grief in a different way.

First up we have Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) who refuses to face the harsh reality that The Other Side is gone for good and, with it, Damon and Bonnie (allegedly). We hear her tearfully thank Damon for giving her everything she’s ever wanted: an all-consuming love, adventure, and passion! However, she wants it to last forever, and she’s so desperate to numb her pain and continue conversing with her love that she actually turns Luke (Chris Brochu) — the witch who’s pretty much to blame for Damon getting stuck on The Other Side in the first place — for a temporary magical solution.

As for Stefan (Paul Wesley), he too is mourning the loss of his brother — but on his own and far away from Mystic Falls. He has a job, a beautiful girlfriend, and a fresh outlook on life. He even learns from past mistakes and tells his current paramour his deepest, darkest secret: that he’s a creature of the night. (Ironically, he opens his soul to her in a sunlit room so of course she laughs it off as though it’s the world’s funniest joke.) As he attempts to start anew, the last thing he needs is false hope. “Damon is gone,” he reminds Elena over the phone. “You need to say goodbye to him.”

As for the rest of our faves, they’re busy picking up the pieces of their shattered lives. Matt (Zach Roerig), finally feeling safe in his “humans only” hometown, joins a combat/law enforcement squad and trains with them during the day. Alaric (Matt Davis) has his work cut out for him as he adjusts to being alive again — this time as a vampire and college professor. An angry, hybrid-less Tyler (Michael Trevino) pours all his pent-up aggression into push-up reps and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) drops by Bonnie’s memorial site to drink and wallow in his sadness. And as for Caroline (Candice Accola)? As usual, Little Miss Sunshine is the glue that holds everyone together; she remains optimistic as tries to reunite the gang and fix everyone’s problems (i.e. putting an end to Elena’s munchies).

That said, grab a box of tissues, hit the play button on the video above, and brace yourselves for some emotional overload. Then hit the comments let us know which storyline you’re most looking forward to in TVD Season 6!

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 22: ”Home” (Contains Spoilers!)

Spoiler alert: tears, heartache, and danger lie ahead! The CW just released the official details and photos for The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 22: “Home,” and — holy mother of Mystic Falls — we’re worried for our beloved fang gang.  The finale event not only sounds mega intense but also absolutely devastating. Judging by the sneak peek images below, every single character looks panicked, melancholy, or terrified….and that’s definitely not a good sign.

So what’s going down in the explosive installment, especially now that the Travelers have seized control of Mystic Falls? Well, despite experiencing a sudden tragedy, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) pulls himself together and teams up with Bonnie (Kat Graham) to figure out how to prevent the disintegration of the Other Side. As they race against time, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline track down the witch twins — Liv and Luke — and assign them with a crucial task. Meanwhile, Markos (Raffi Barsoumian) decides violence is the only solution in the Traveler’s overall game plan and makes poor Tyler (Michael Trevino) suffer greatly. Even Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) who has pretty much witnessed some gruesome crime scenes is horrified by Markos’s cruelty and lack of compassion. And that’s not all — Bonnie tries to settle a personal situation in her spare time (Hmm…does it involve Grams? We spy her creeping on her granddaughter in the cemetery in one of the snapshots!) and Damon comes up with a plan that seems brilliant…..until it completely backfires.

What do you think will happen in the Season 5 Finale?

TVD Season 5 Finale News: Damon the hero?

It’s no secret that Damon Salvatore’s moral dilemma has been an important underlying current in The Vampire Diaries‘ storytelling. He made his debut on the show as a bloodsucking madman with a penchant for murder and mayhem, and over the years, has grown as a character. His transformation into a more caring individual has truly resonated with viewers. Sure, pretty much everyone in Mystic Falls — including Caroline, Stefan and Elena — struggles with giving in to their dark urges. And, sure, Damon has made some horrific life choices — such as killing Aaron Whitmore and snapping Jeremy and Alaric’s necks (thank goodness for resurrection rings). Despite his occasional misstep though, he’s definitely a more thoughtful, compassionate person than the unfeeling monster he used to be. Well, according to a new spoiler for TVD Season 5, it sounds as though the elder Salvatore brother will be given a stab at redemption after having wandered off the beaten path for so long.

Check out what executive producer Julie Plec told E! Online about the Vampire Diaries Season 5 finale below!

@Ideserveyou: #AskKristin are Damon fans going to suffer in the season finale?
Damon fans, start gearing up for an emotional hour when The Vampire Diaries signs off in May. “There’s quite a lot of suffering and celebration in the last two episodes,” Julie Plec warned. “Because of Markos’s efforts to make the town of Mystic Falls a magic-free zone and the imminent destruction of the Other Side, lots of lives are in jeopardy and Damon has to, as he says, ‘strap on his hero hair.’”

Is it just us or is Damon obsessed with the phrase “hero hair”? Either way, we’ll never get enough listening him tease Stefan about his voluminous locks. That said, it’s nice to know that after his disappointing downward spiral — namely returning to his psycho killer roots over a freaking breakup — that Damon will get the chance to save the day. Deep down, under his tough exterior and those hedonistic tendencies, lies a lot kindness and vulnerability. Even though it’s fun to watch Damon embrace the perks of being a vampire, it’s even more satisfying to see him do something utterly selfless.

First of all, within the image below, we spy poor Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) chained up by some monstrous-looking shackles. Although we feel terrible that Dr. Maxifeld (Rick Cosnett) injected him with that experimental serum and Ripper-fied him, we know that the only reason Damon is all tied up with nowhere to go (much like Uncle Mason was in that Season 2 episode where he freaking bled on Damon’s vintage and very expensive rug after getting his heart yanked out) is because he poses a danger to himself and to other vampires. His BFF Enzo (Michael Malarkey) also appears in the new shots and he looks mega worried.

Just in case you miss decade dances and Whitmore Society’s Halloween bash wasn’t enough drama for y’all, don’t worry: the lovely ladies of Mystic Falls are headed to another extravaganza just in time for Valentine’s Day in The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 13. And guess what this event is called? The Bitter Ball. That’s right — all those lone souls wandering aimlessly around campus will finally be able to meet up with other miserable students in hopes of making new friends, indulging in steamy flings — and if they play their cards right — dropping it low to any track off Beyoncé latest album.

Plus, any TVD ep titled after a Bonnie Tyler power ballad is a-okay in our book, and “Total Eclipse of The Heart” is certainly an appropriate pick. Seriously, just check out the lyrics: “And I need you now tonight / And I need you more than ever / And if you only hold me tight / We’ll be holding on forever/ And we’ll only be making it right /’Cause we’ll never be wrong /Together we can take it to the end of the line /Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time.” If that doesn’t scream ‘eternal love’ to you, we don’t know what does!
